Catholic cardinal from Lebanon visits Salt Lake City

Cardinal Moran Mor Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, the head of the Maronite Catholic Church in Lebanon, visited Utah on Friday, Oct. 20. Bishop Oscar Solis, Salt Lake Diocese is at left. He met with the Salt Lake Interfaith Council and later celebrated Mass at the St. Vincent Catholic Church in Holladay .

Cardinal Moran Mor Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, patriarch of the Maronite Catholic Church, visited Salt Lake City on Friday to speak at the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City’s Pastoral Center.
The 77-year-old Lebanese cleric also celebrated Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Holladay.
Boutros al-Rahi is known for his efforts to reach out to Muslims in his war-torn Middle Eastern nation.
