Posted: 2:12 PM- Real Salt Lake will play host to Real Madrid in an exhibition game Aug. 9 in Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Game time has not been set, but a team official confirmed the date on Thursday. It will be the second time in three years that the legendary Spanish team will visit Utah, having defeated RSL 2-0 in 2006.
Real Madrid was eliminated from UEFA Champions League by AS Roma on Wednesday, but still leads rival FC Barcelona in the race for the Primera Liga championship in Spain with a dozen games remaining.
Meanwhile, RSL is in the final phase of its preseason training in Argentina, in advance of its Major League Soccer season-opener against the Chicago Fire on March 29.
