Ticket demand for an MLS Cup hasn't been this strong in awhile.
Officials have put another 6,000 tickets on sale for the MLS Cup final at Qwest Field in Seattle on Sunday -- mostly because the participation of David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy have caused an "overwhelming" spike in demand. The game already had sold out its initial allotment of 36,000 seats in arguably the hottest soccer market in the country, before the Galaxy qualified to meet Real Salt Lake.
Of course, that's partly because the Seattle Sounders, who play regular-season games at Qwest Field, had included the MLS Cup as part of their season-ticket package. That means thousands of fans are holding tickets to a title game that won't include their favorite team.
Team executives with RSL have been brainstorming for ways to try to ensure Sounders fans take their side against the Galaxy, but haven't announced any specific plans yet. Owner Dave Checketts believes his team at least will enjoy a little "anti-LA" support.

One game left
Forward Yura Movsisyan moved one step closer to realizing his dream of winning a championship before leaving RSL for still-winless Randers FC in Denmark.
"It's great," he said. "These guys have worked really hard -- the coaching staff, everybody in the club. And this would be a really, really great farewell for me, winning the cup."
Feeling good
Coach Jason Kreis said beating the Fire for the MLS Eastern Conference championship helped make up for losing to New York last year in the MLS Western Conference final.
"In some ways, we feel a little bit justified now because of last year's situation," he said.
"Last year was a little bit of a laugher because we were so much better than New York and didn't end up making it to the finals. But we have to feel good about our situation and we have to feel good about our chances next week, as well."
