The Class 5A boys' tennis state tournament is today at Liberty Park. And once again, the favorite to win the team title is Brighton.

Two of its singles players - No. 1 Spencer Smith and No. 2 Corbin Benson - have already won a title in their respective positions. Newcomer Grant Taylor is the No. 3 singles player for the Bengals, and although just a freshman, he comes into the tournament with a 10-2 record.

Smith, in the bottom bracket, might meet Lone Peak's Tyler Loong, who is in the upper bracket, for the No. 1 singles title. Loong has a 14-0 record coming into this weekend's tournament.

The Class 2A/1A tournament will also be held this weekend at Coach Mike's Tennis Academy. Rowland Hall looks like it will have a good chance at a repeat team title.
