MURRAY - With their playoff spot still up in the air, the Cottonwood Colts played Tuesday afternoon like they had everything to lose. While their opponent, the top-ranked Olympus Titans, didn't.
At the end of the second overtime period, Cottonwood had fought Olympus to a 2-2 draw.
Despite maintaining the lion's share of first-half possession, Olympus didn't find the back of the net until the 32nd minute. Junior Ian Gillette tallied his second goal of the season off a sweeping free kick from teammate Zach Hart, complemented a few minutes later with a score from Titan Jon Grimm and another assist from Hart.
After the break, the Titans came out with the swagger of a top ranked team with a two-goal lead in their back pocket, not a team ready for a soccer street fight.
"[Olympus] beat us 2-0 at their house last time and I think they just came in here today looking for the shutout. We always play off emotion and we got fired up for that second half," said Cottonwood assistant Ryan Willis.
The Colts put their intensity to work, managing a pair of second-half goals that had even their own fans scratching their heads and searching for a roster. In the 54th minute, ninth-grader Diego Rivera got the Colts first netter followed later by fellow unknown freshman Kris Rolstad. On a pitch Willis described as "at least 10 yards shorter than it should be," Rolstad punched in the

game-tying shot from nearly midfield.
"I came off and took touch and I just saw that the keeper was off-line, so I thought I'd have a go," said Rolstad.
