It was like a nightmare for Juan Diego.

With less than four minutes left, a 4-yard run by Tyler Morales was signaled a touchdown and it looked as if the Eagles were an extra point away from tying the game at 16.

Before the point after touchdown team could get onto the field, the officials re-huddled and decided Morales did not make it in.

On the next play from the 1-yard line, Eagles quarterback Corey Lever fumbled the snap, Judge Memorial recovered and went on to win 23-9.

"It was huge for us," Judge Memorial coach James Cordova said. "A lot of teams have been able to punch it in on us so [our goal-line stand] was as much a moral victory as it was a physical victory."

After the fumble the Bulldogs marched 80 yards and clinched the game on a Lewis Walker 4-yard touchdown run.

"Both teams had a lot of intensity and it was a good game all over," said Walker, who finished with 80 yards on eight carries.

In the first half, a big run by Walker got the Bulldogs on the board first after he took a pitch 40 yards, which set up a 23-yard field goal.

On the other side of the field, Juan Diego had the challenge of stopping a Bulldog offense that has scored over 30 points in each of their victories. But after a late field goal by Juan Diego, the teams went into halftime with the score tied at 9-9

In the second half, Judge's ground game came alive and Tyler Moll scored the Bulldogs' second touchdown from 1 yard out.

Moll finished with 51 yards rushing

"It was an evenly match game and we came out in the second half and the line took over," Judge's Pond said. "I put the win on their shoulders."

Next week the Bulldogs will take on Park City in what should be another tough battle.
