Getting out of hand

It was a competitive game in the first half, with Hurricane holding a 9-3 lead heading into halftime. But Morgan couldn't get anything going on offense until the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Gordie Dotson scored two touchdowns to give the Tigers a 23-3 lead.

That one hurt

Morgan had a chance to make it a one-touchdown game with about seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. But Hurricane's Tyler Ewell intercepted the ball at the Tigers' 1-yard line.

Being picky

Statistically, the game was close. Hurricane had 17 first downs compared with Morgan's 18. The Tigers had 310 total yards of offense, just 32 more than the Trojans. The difference was in turnovers. Hurricane intercepted Morgan four times.
