Bonneville will have its hands full against Cottonwood. The Colts are a much different opponent than the Lakers' first-round opponent, Mountain View. The Bruins had a bruising running back in Anthony Heumuli. But, Mountain View was one-dimensional. Cottonwood won't be, with a running back like Isi Sofele, a huge offensive line and an efficient quarterback in Steve Romero.
"Mountain View just wants to shove the ball down your throat," Bonneville coach Matt Williams said. "But with Cottonwood, you can't just stop Sofele because they'll throw the ball around. You have to stop both."
Bonneville knows a key to a win over the Colts will be possession time. The Lakers need to keep their offense on the field as long as possible, because if the ball is in their hands, the ball is out of Sofele's.
