Just when it looked as though the Jordan football team had posted one of the biggest comeback victories of the year against the defending state champion Alta by recovering on on-side kick, rushing in a touchdown and completing a two point conversion to go up 36-35 with less than a minute to play, the Hawks found a way to win.

Alta's Ammon Olsen threw two clutch completions to put the Hawks at the 39 yard line and set up the field goal attempt with 4.5 seconds on the clock. Vince Bingham converted-barely, handing Alta a 38-36 win and its second straight Region 2 title and top seed in the postseason.

Up 21-0 in the second quarter, however, the Hawks let the Beetdiggers climb back into the game in the second half. Jordan quarterback Alex Hart struggled to connect with anyone in the first half, but his connection with Brock Bird in the final seconds of the second quarter was all he needed to turn things around.

In the second half, Hart couldn't miss, connecting for three touchdowns including Jordan's crucial two-point conversion.

Olsen came up with some clutch sneaks of his own, including a 1 yard touchdown hop in the third quarter to seemingly give the Hawks a comfortable 35-21 lead.

But Jordan countered quickly, with Hart connecting with Braden Hammond for a 45 yard touchdown to put the game back within reach. On the next play, Garrett Blaisdell's onside kick was recovered and the Beetdiggers's Corey Hunt rushed in for a seven yard touchdown and Hammond connected on the conversion as Jordan went for gold.

Alta was deflated but not out. Olsen found a way to get the Hawks' to the 39 yard line and, with time running out, Bingham's long shot field goal slipped over the cross bar sending the Hawks' sideline into a fury.
