When Jordan's Austin Day snared a certain reception out of the hands of Eagles wideout Casey Jones in the Beetdiggers' 41-21 victory Wednesday night, the entire Eagles sideline could've groaned at the trend of their night: Whenever they would mount an iota of momentum, Jordan would squash it and create some of its own.

The game started out hot for the Eagles, when after a quick three-and-out by Jordan to start the game, they were able to storm down the field in three plays with quarterback Kevin Wagstaff scampering in from 3 yards out to give the Eagles their only lead of the game, 7-0.

Jordan was able to respond quickly, when after quarterback Alex Hart hit on a deep pass play to Cory Hunt, Hart ran in Jordan's first score from 4 yards to tie up the game.

But Hart and the Beetdiggers weren't finished.

After tailback Dillon Hill punched in a two-yard touchdown run, Hart came back through the air, finding Tyler Brown from 10 yards out to bring the score to 24-7 at half.

But Skyline would recover and come back right after the intermission with another Wagstaff run in, but the small spurt was not enough for the Eagles to persevere. Hart came back for two more touchdowns, one more on the ground and a 25-yard zinger to cap off his night.

Even though he was pleased with his quarterback performance, head coach Alex Jacobsen main attention is now locked on the essential region championship they have next week against other Region 2 unbeaten Alta, a challenge they've been teething for.

"We're playing for the region championship against Alta at our field and we're going to play a great Alta team. Alta is the champs until someone knocks them off," said Jacobsen, "The championship is our goal, and now we're there."
