East jumped ahead first, however, when Danny Tuai connected with Jacob Morrison for 47-yard touchdown on the first drive of the game.
Skyline didn't respond until the end of the quarter, with running back Algernon Brown finding a hole for a 40-yard touchdown scamper.
But Skyline wasn't done running the ball down East's throat.
Quarterback Kevin Wagstaff scored on a 12-yard run to give Skyline its first lead at 12-6, moments after he connected with Caleb Latteier for a 30-yard gain.
Both Wagstaff and Brown finished with impressive rushing games. Brown rushed 12 times for 76 yards and two touchdowns, while Wagstaff racked up 61 yards on nine carries and one rushing touchdown.
Skyline coach Roger Dupaix said he noticed his team's running trend and decided to stick with it.
"I think the tempo of the game dictated our play calling a lot," he said. "We planned to pass a little bit more, but as the game went on, we were hitting some good running plays, so we wanted focus on those and not pass a much."
It wasn't until late in the fourth quarter with the score at 19-9 that East made a move.
The Leopards capitalized on a Marc Tuafa fumble, recovering at the Eagles' 44-yard line and scoring quickly on a 16-yard touchdown by Taylor Swenson.
After a interception from Nick Reichard on East's last possession, the Eagles were able to breathe easier.
* Skyline rushes for 192 yards.
