Grade: D

The subtitle of the soundtrack of Michael Jackson's "This Is It" says it all: "The Music That Inspired The Movie." Besides revelatory demos of "She's Out of My Life," "Beat It" and "Wanna Be Startin' Something," along with an embarrassing spoken-word poem called "Planet Earth," the 2 CD-collection just collects Michael Jackson songs from his past that everyone already owns. Yes, the single "This Is It" and its orchestral rendition is included, but they are not enough to warrant the purchase of this exploitative soundtrack. Why doesn't it include live versions of the songs performed in the film?
