Lincoln Hall, author of Dead Lucky: Life After Death on Mount Everest, will speak at the King's English, 1511 S. 1500 East, Salt Lake City, May 28 at 7 p.m.

Hall, a mountaineer from Australia, made it to the top of Everest on May 25, 2006, but developed altitude sickness shortly after beginning the descent.

His two companions spent hours trying to help him, but as dusk approached, the expedition leader told the two Sherpa men to leave Hall in order to save themselves. Hall was left for dead.

The next morning, a guide and two clients found Hall sitting cross-legged on the trail, very much alive, but still in dire need of medical attention. The book is his story of the events that unfolded on the day "which would finish with me freezing to death."
