The trail, tentatively called the Glen Canyon Rim Trail, would be about 7 1/2 miles long and would link the Horseshoe Bend trail with the city of Page's existing Rim Trail. It would run on property managed by Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the city of Page.
An environmental assessment of the trail will study opening the trail to nonmotorized users, including hikers, bikers and horseback riders. The National Park Service is hosting an open house to gather input and answer questions about the proposed trail April 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the National Park Service office at 691 Scenic View Drive in Page.
More information about the event can be found online at parkplanning.nps.gov/glca.
Comments can be sent from that Web site or to Rim Trail EA, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, P.O. Box 1507, Page, AZ 86040. All comments must be received by April 30.
