Coast Guard honors Clearfield man for his volunteer work

Jim Zocchi, a Clearfield resident and personal-watercraft instructor for Utah State Parks, was recently presented the Recreational Boating Safety Award from the United States Coast Guard.

Zocchi has served as a volunteer instructor for 11 years and has taught more than 2,500 Utah children how to safely operate personal watercraft. He was given the award for his "outstanding volunteer service, educating Utah boaters, performing vessel safety checks and providing information to marine dealers."
