The event will take place at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort in Logan Canyon. More than $20,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded. The climb is sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Hillclimb Association with professional, semi-professional, women, juniors, local amateur and vintage snowmobile classes.

An Antelope Island State Park naturalist is leading a guided hike Sunday to the top of Frary Peak and will discuss the island's population of bighorn sheep. Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway is holding a full-moon snowshoe hike Friday starting at 7 p.m. The hike is for all levels of snowshoers and is being sponsored by Friends of Wasatch Mountain State Park. The popular GPS 101 clinic is Tuesday at the Salt Lake REI store, 3285 E. 3300 South, in East Millcreek. REI staffers Paul Vernon and Patrick Killoran will provide a basic introduction to Global Positioning Systems starting at 7 p.m.
Bob Guthrie will discuss his adventure of climbing Carstenzs Pyramid in the western park of New Guinea, Papua. Guthrie will present slides and video of the trip, March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Salt Lake store.
