Wild Tracks! A Guide to Nature's Footprints

By Jim Arnosky (Sterling Publishing, $14.95)

I wish adult books on animal tracking were as colorful and as beautifully designed as this book by Jim Arnosky.

The book, which will be released in April, includes dynamic color pages of animals in wild settings and life-size tracks of more than 60 species. Intricate black-and-white drawings fill the leftover spaces.

Included are four fold-out pages featuring tracks of the members of the hoofed animals and members of the deer, feline and canine families. The fold-outs make for an easy comparison when faced with a tricky print.

Arnosky, who has produced 100 children's books with the release of Wild Tracks!, also appeals to nature lovers and artists with this elegant work.
