Western Hunting Expo

The second annual Western Hunting & Conservation Expo will be Feb. 6-9 at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Hunters can apply for 200 Utah limited-entry permits on the Web or in person at the show. Expo events include an Alan Jackson concert on Feb. 8, a huge taxidermy collection of some of the world's highest-scoring trophies and a floor show featuring hunting gear, art, hunts and clinics. Youth snowmobile courses

Utah State Parks is holding its "Know Before You Go!" youth snowmobile and off-highway vehicle education classes through January in Salt Lake, Weber, Davis and Morgan counties. Youth ages 8 to 16 are required by state law to take a safety class before operating snowmobiles on public lands or trails. Call 800-648-7433 to register or for more information.
