The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is looking for volunteers for its Farmington Bay Naturalist program. A free volunteer workshop will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Great Salt Lake Nature Center at Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area. Naturalists will lead visitors on field trips and nature tours. The staff will teach naturalists everything they will need to know about wetland ecology, bird identity and how to pass the birding passion on to others.
Jill West, volunteer program coordinator for the DWR, also will discuss other volunteer opportunities with the state wildlife agency - Wild Guides Naturalist, Community Fishing, Watchable Wildlife and Hunter Education.
A tour of the Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area will follow the workshop. The Great Salt Lake Nature Center is at the Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area, 1700 W. Glover Lane (925 South), Farmington.
