The Clearfield Recreation Department is hosting a three-on-three youth basketball tournament on Jan. 21 and Feb. 18. Current conditions as of Monday: Monte Cristo: 38 inches of snow at Dry Bread Pond and 46 inches at Monte Cristo; Bear Lake/Logan Canyon: last grooming was scheduled for Dec. 26; Wasatch Mountain: six to 10 inches of snow at the trailheads on the Midway side, up to 15 to 18 inches on the mountain. Soldier Hollow over to Cascade, up the Alpine Loop to Pine Hollow and down to Aspen Grove, Little Deer Creek and Snake Creek Canyon, groomed. Mirror Lake/Mill Hollow: groomed this past weekend, avalanche conditions high; Uintah Basin: has not been groomed yet due to a lack of snow; Scofield/Joe's Valley/Skyline Drive: no report; Mt. Nebo: groomed Dec. 27 from the Payson Trailhead to the Devils Kitchen near Nephi, 12 to 18 inches of snow, avalanche conditions high; Fish Lake: some grooming; Cedar Mountain/East Fork: grooming has started on Cedar Mountain, contact Michael or Dean at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park at 435-648-2800 with any questions; Strawberry: 10 inches of snow at the DOT Snow Cat Shed off Highway 40 and three feet of snow at Lake Creek Summit as of Dec. 29, trail riding is hazardous due to low snow conditions.
