Avalanche Center benefit

Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center and REI are holding their annual backcountry and cross country ski and gear swap to benefit the Utah Avalanche Center on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the Salt Lake REI store, 3285 E. 3300 South, East Millcreek. Entry is $5 per person or $10 for a family. Items can be dropped off today and Friday for $2 per item and 20 percent of the cost. Call 801-365-5522 for more information.

The science classes at Wasatch High School, in conjunction with Four Seasons Fly Fishers, Big Amazon Fish and Curb It Recycle of Heber, are holding a cleanup on the middle Provo River on Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Charleston access parking lot.
