Description: From the parking area, the trail heads north and follows near Elbow Fork Creek. You come to a trail junction at 0.2 miles; go left, taking the Mount Aire Trail. Cross two footbridges. After the second bridge, the trail becomes steeper as you make your way to the saddle. Take your time on this strenuous section. You arrive at the saddle 1 mile into the hike. The view opens to the north, with Parleys Canyon below. Take a needed break before you start the switchbacks for the peak. The trail has five switchbacks. You arrive at the top with lots of shade trees and sitting rocks to view the 360-degree panorama. Enjoy views of Mountain Dell Reservoir, East Canyon, Parleys Canyon, Gobblers Knob, Mount Raymond, Grandeur Peak and the Salt Lake Valley.

Dogs in Mill Creek Canyon: Salt Lake County requires that dogs be leashed in the entire canyon on even-numbered days. They are allowed to be unleashed on odd-numbered days except in developed areas.

Directions: From Wasatch Boulevard and 3800 South, drive 6.25 miles up Mill Creek Canyon to Elbow Fork. At the sharp bend in the road, look on the left side for parking and the trailhead.
