Lasting memories of the Olympics?

"I broke my femur in 11 pieces in November before the Olympics - so I remember going out with crutches, it was amazing, everyone would be really cool and let me through."

Lasting benefit of the Olympics?

"Everyone knows Utah for something else other than Mormons."

Best day on the mountain?

"Every day is a best day - cliche, but true. It is like a chess game against the mountain involving a sport. So mentally and physically engaging, plus it's in the mountains!"

Worst day on the mountain?

"The day I broke my femur."

On Utah women.

"They are everywhere! Utah women are beautiful, but the cultured ones with a brain tend to be elusive, got to pay attention for those ones."

Why is Utah's snow the best in the world?

Where is second best?

"Second best is a little resort/village in Engelberg, Switzerland. Some of the best times in my life went down in Engelberg."

What do you do off the hill?

"I started a headwear company called DISCRETE - check it out at www.discretesport.com. Discrete takes up a good chunk of my time (and my money). Plus I am way into hiking, camping, thinking, writing, romance, diving boards, skateboarding, ping-pong (I have only met one person I can't beat) . . . recreation in general."

What are your turn-ons?

"Complexities and simpleness. Like a well-drawn maze."

What is your future?

"Adventure, discovery and have fun doing it."

What's in your iPod?

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" soundtrack, Steely Dan, Gangstarr, Talib Kwali, Led Zeppelin, Sade, Wu-tang."

Favorite magazine cover shot?

"One day I was just filming for a movie and a photographer I had never met or heard of tagged along and I kind of forgot he was there, and a year later one of his shots ended up on the cover of Skiing magazine. That was crazy."

Why is Utah good for a professional skier?

"You can be the best skier in the world, but if you don't have the right people documenting it - it will never be seen. Utah has some of the most distinguished photographers living right here."

Why do you like living in Salt Lake?

"I dig it because you are only 30 minutes from world-class skiing, and then you have a major city right here. I love skiing but I don't want to it be all encompassing to my life. I love having friends and things to do that have nothing to do with skiing. Salt Lake is great for that. Sometimes I shoot and film all day and maybe jump a 140-foot cliff, then I come down to the city and hang and some of my friends ask if I skied that day - 'Sure did.' Plus, Salt Lake is clean and safe."
