Hardware Ranch Elk Festival

Hardware Ranch Wildlife Management Area, in Blacksmith Fork Canyon near Logan, is holding its annual Elk Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family-oriented festival is free and includes a wide range of activities, from wagon rides to pumpkin painting to an elk-bugling contest at 1 p.m. The ranch is 18 miles east of Hyrum on State Road 101. Free tram rides

Snowbird is offering free tram rides Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 20-21 to those who bring a donation for the Utah Food Bank. One can of food or a $2 donation is good for one tram ride. All food will benefit the Utah Food Bank. Money will benefit the Wasatch Adaptive Sports program. The tram runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, both weekends.
