Utah state parks celebrate Public Lands Day with free events

Utah state parks are celebrating Public Lands Day with free entrance into the parks - other fees will be applied - and with several special activities on Saturday.

Volunteers at Antelope Island State Park will do work on the White Rock Bay Trail starting at 9 a.m. Call 801-773-2941 for more information.

Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway is holding an apple picking event at Huber Grove at 9:30 a.m. Park staff will also help participants learn to make apple juice. The event is free; the apples will be $3 per bag. Call 435-654-1791.

Stagecoach rides, museum tours, time period games and march and drill re-enactments will be held at Camp Floyd/Stagecoach Inn State Park near Fairfield. Call 801-768-8932.

Tom Haraden of Zion National Park will talk about bats at Snow Canyon State Park at 6 p.m. Space is limited. Call 435-628-2255 for more information.
