Applications to access City Creek Canyon through the entrance gates during the 2007 general rifle season deer hunt must be turned in between Monday and Sept. 21.

Salt Lake City Watershed officials will award up to 150 of the permits for the season, which runs Oct. 20-28. A lottery will be held if more than 150 permit applications are received.

Deer hunters in City Creek Canyon must have a Utah big-game license, northern region deer-hunting permit and a Salt Lake City watershed permit.

Permit applications, which can be picked up at Salt Lake City Public Utilities, 1530 S. West Temple, must include the big-game license number and license plate number for the vehicle hunters plan on using in the canyon. Permits will be mailed to successful applicants, and a list of permits will be posted at the public utilities building the week of Oct. 2.
