The Utah Chapter of the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep (FNAWS), in conjunction with Sportsmen for Habitat, recently presented $100,000 to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources to help pay for the purchase of 360 acres of big-game rangeland along the Green River in Daggett County.

The chapter had previously contributed about $100,000 in funds to acquire and release 60 Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep from Montana along the Green River corridor.

Other contributions for the $1.6 million acquisition came from the Central Utah Project Mitigation and Reclamation Commission ($800,000), Utah Habitat Council ($358,000) and Questar ($406,000).
