The Ashley National Forest is requesting public comment about proposed changes to recreation fees on the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. The proposals would increase the day-use fee from $2 to $5 and the annual fee from $20 to $35. A 16-day permit for $5 would change to a seven-day permit for $15. The changes would start in early 2008.
Public meetings about the proposals will be Sept. 5 from 6-7 p.m. at the courthouse in Manila, the Green River Public Library on Sept. 6 and at the Uintah Interagency Fire Center in Vernal on Sept. 10.
