Description: On the west side of the parking area, take the trail for Cuberant Lake. At the trail junction, go right. At 0.9 miles, the trail drops into Reid's Meadow, where springs flow across the trail, creating small pools. From the meadow you see Bald Mountain on the left and Reid's Peak on the right. Leaving the meadow the trail turns north and climbs to the trail junction for Cuberant Lake. If you decide to visit the lake it's an extra 1.5 miles to get there. After your decision, go right at the junction and the trail becomes steeper to Kamas Lake, which is 1.7 miles into the hike. Leaving the lake, you enter a meadow with ponds and make your way up to a north-side viewpoint of the Uintas. As you stand at the viewpoint, you see Cutthroat Lake below. The trail turns southeast up a boulder field with a number of switchbacks. At the top of the boulders, the trail smooths out into a high meadow. At 2.5 miles you arrive at Lofty Lake. From the lake you enter a boulder field leading to the highest point of the hike. The trail switchbacks down into the view as you make your way to Scout Lake. As you come to a trail junction, go right and take the Pass Lake Trail for Picturesque Lake, completing your loop.
Directions: On the Mirror Lake Highway, SR 150, look for the trail post near Pass Lake. Pass Lake is just north of Mirror Lake and the parking area is on the west side of the highway.
