New stations

HawkWatch observation sites

HawkWatch International has opened its raptor migration research station on the Goshute Mountains in Nevada, just south of Wendover, and will open the Wellsville Mountain in northern Utah on Monday. Visitors are welcome at the sites, which provide a unique opportunity to view raptors. Visit www.hawkwatch.org for maps and details about visiting the two sites.

Saturday at Pineview

Ogden Paddle Festival

The first annual Ogden City Paddle Festival is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pineview Reservoir. The festival celebrates rivers and recreation and offers families a chance to explore outdoor skills. Kayaks, sculls and sailboats will be on hand for use. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Proceeds benefit the Utah Rivers Council. Visit www.ogdencity.com for information.
