Daytime activities include workshops for children and adults, and viewing the sun through special solar telescopes. A number of evening programs are offered; the biggest draw is the stargazing that takes place each night from 10 to midnight near the visitor center. A number of telescopes will be available for people to look through during these stargazing sessions.

Audubon birding events
Great Salt Lake Audubon is holding the following trips in the next week. Contact the trip leader to confirm a spot.
Walk the Mormon Trail on Friday as part of the "A Canyon Walk" series. Meet at the parking lot west of the REI store at 3285 E. 3300 South, East Millcreek, in time for a 7 a.m. departure. Call Kathy Coleman at 801-944-5773.
The Canyon Walk series heads to Pinecrest, off Emigration Canyon, on Wednesday. The 2 1/2 -mile roundtrip walk is along an old mining railroad grade. Meet at the eastern end of the parking lot at Ruth's Diner in Emigration Canyon at 6:30 a.m. Call Deedee at 801-272-8060.
Yuba State Park input
Utah State Parks and Recreation is developing a resource management plan for Yuba State Park. The plan will guide state park managers at Yuba for the next decade.
Public input is being solicited for the plan. Comments can be made by e-mail (planscomment@utah.gov) or postal mail (Utah State Parks/Planning Section, P.O. Box 146001, 1594 W. North Temple, Suite 116, Salt Lake City, UT 84114) or dropped off at the park.
The deadline for suggestions is June 25.
REI Paddle Demo Day
REI is holding a paddle demo day Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the southeastern corner of Liberty Park, 650 E. 1300 South, Salt Lake City.
New lines of canoes and kayaks will be available for a quick spin on the lake. Lifejackets and paddles will be provided. Free paddling classes will be offered throughout the day.
Bighorn sheep viewing
The Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is hosting a bighorn sheep watch at Sunnyside, southeast of Price, on Saturday. Wildlife biologists will be at the location from 3 to 8 p.m. to help the public locate animals and answer questions.
