REI's Passport to Adventure Program is designed for youth ages 5 to 12 and their parents to go on three kid-size, family-friendly hikes and bike rides.

The program is offered through Labor Day and provides information for parents, describing each of the hikes along with driving directions and helpful tips.

Children are provided with a special passport-style Adventure Journal to take field notes, attach photos, create drawings and play games like "Animal Tracks Match" and "Hiking Haiku."

Participants who complete the three adventures can get their passport stamped and will receive a free water bottle and certificate of completion. They will also be entered in a drawing for a child's bike or a child's backpack.
