Hike of the week: Holbrook Canyon Trail - Davis County
This is an archived article that was published on sltrib.com in 2007, and information in the article may be outdated. It is provided only for personal research purposes and may not be reprinted.

Description: From the parking area, look for the trailhead, which is flanked by a sitting bench. Head down toward the creek and follow the trail along the north side into the Sessions Mountains. At 1/2 mile you come to the first of many creek crossings. Some of the crossings have footbridges, but most require a bit of rock hopping and log balancing on the way to the other side. Wading is also an option if the water is low. In the spring, yellow glacier lilies bloom under the scrub oaks. Most of the trail is shaded. Occasionally, it veers away from the creek and tree-cover, allowing a peek at the canyon. Rushing water and striking rock formations make for a delightful outing. In early spring, however, snowpack forced me to turn around before reaching the farthest point on the trail.

Directions: From Interstate 15, take the 400 North exit. Go east where the road leads into South Bountiful Boulevard. The trailhead is just south of the Bountiful Temple, on the east side of the road.
