The public is invited to watch as wildlife officials work the bison through health check points Nov. 3-5. Bison will be moved through the chutes each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. near the park headquarters.

Echo Park Dam movie
Roy Webb, an archivist at the University of Utah's Marriott Library special collections department is presenting the film "Wilderness River Trail: The Echo Park Dam Controversy" Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Little Theater in the A. Ray Olpin Student Union Building. The lecture and film are free. The film shows the Sierra Club floating the Yampa River through Dinosaur National Park in 1952 and was used to help stop the building of a dam at Echo Park. Call 801-581-3421 for more information.
Refuge Awareness Day
Refuge Awareness Day is Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the James V. Hansen Wildlife Education Center at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge west of Brigham City.
Events include a guided tour of the refuge by Al Trout, former superintendent of the refuge, and De Ann Lester at 10:30 a.m., tours through the Teaching Lab at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., a presentation on the "Birds of Northern Utah" with Keith Evans and Jack Rensel at 1 p.m., and a presentation on "Northern Utah Ghost Towns & Railroads" at 2 p.m. by Steve Carr.

Rainbow Bridge trail
The trail to Rainbow Bridge has been reopened after National Park Service maintenance crews repaired the trail leading to the massive land bridge from the edge of Lake Powell after major flooding forced a closure on the trail.
Ski conditioning classes
Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation is hosting a ski conditioning class Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sunnyside Park in Salt Lake City through Nov. 10. The class is $5 and is taught by Eric Sell, a personal trainer at the Salt Lake City Sports Complex. The class is held outside and is available to drop-ins and will consist of running, jumping, bounding, core exercises and upper body exercises. REI clinics
