HOCKEY

County Ice Center

The County Ice Center is holding adult hockey classes on Wednesday evenings for six weeks beginning June 7. The class is held from 7:15-8:15 p.m. and costs $50. Call Joe at 801-270-7293 for more information.

A 3-on-3 summer hockey league is forming at the County Ice Center. The league is open to Mites through Bantams for players with at least one year of experience. Salt Lake City Sports Complex

HORSESHOEING

Northern Utah Horseshoe Pitchers Association

Tournaments are almost every weekend throughout the year. The next tournament is at Liberty Park on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with registration at 9:30.

IN-LINE HOCKEY

Park City Ice Arena

The Park City Ice Arena is holding youth in-line hockey clinics. The 30-minute clinic focuses on skating, stopping, stick handling, passing, shooting and positioning. A $60 fee includes 30 minutes of instruction and 45 minutes of scrimmage. The clinics are offered every Tuesday and Thursday, June 13 to July 13. Ages 5-11 will be from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Ages 12-17 will go from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Adults coed in-line scrimmage hockey for adults 18 and older is held on Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 6:45 from June 14 to July 12. June 17 -- The Venture Outdoors Festival, Millcreek Township's Celebration of Outdoor Recreation. A 4.2 mile run/walk and I Love My Dog Dash. The run/walk starts at 6 p.m. at the Canyon Rim Park, 3100 E. 3085 South and goes down to Parley's Historic Nature Park, through Hansen Hollow, along historic Parley's Road and returns to the finish at Canyon Rim. The celebration will include music, food and entertainment from 3 to 9 p.m. Pre-register for $20 one week before the race, and for $23 after that. Utah Olympic Oval

Utah Summer Games

June 24 -- Team registration is now being accepted for the Utah Summer Games Outdoor Volleyball Tournament. The tournament will be held on Saturday, June 24 at the Cottonwood Complex, 4400 S. 1300 East in Salt Lake City. Teams include doubles and 4-on-4 teams.
