Fishing club volunteers

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is looking for volunteers to teach youth, ages 6-13, about fishing. Volunteers are needed across the state as the number of youth allowed to participate is dictated by the number of volunteers. Many of the clubs start in March and April, but a few will start in June. The clubs meet once a week for six weeks. Volunteers must attend a training seminar hosted by the DWR. To find out if there is a club near you visit www.wildlife.utah.gov/cf/clubs.php.

Certificate required to collect antler sheds

People who enjoy collecting antlers shed by moose, elk and deer in Utah must complete a shed antler gathering course on the DWR's Web page and have it with them or risk being cited. The certificate is only required for those gathering antlers before April 15. After that date no certificate is required. The course can be found at www.wildlife.utah.gov/shedantler.
