Going skiing? Want to save money?

One way to do accomplish your goal is to purchase a lift tickets at a ski shop in the Salt Lake Valley.

According to Mark Turner of the downtown Ski 'N See Shop, deep discounts are available to "anybody who walks through the door -- no restrictions."

Resorts sell "aggressively discounted" lift tickets to the ski shop operators, who in turn sell them to the public at cost or with a minimal mark up.

For example, Turner said, a skier can save $21 off the regular $85 price of a single day lift ticket at Park City Mountain Resort by purchasing it at Ski 'N See.

Would he recommend buying close to home instead of waiting until you reach the resorts?

"Most definitely," Turner said.
