Posted: 9:14 AM- State wildlife officials have removed the limit on trout at Vernon Reservoir, effective immediately.

The irrigation reservoir south of Tooele will be drained starting Sept. 15 to allow workers to clear debris.

Division of Wildlife Resources officials say it will take about a week to drain the reservoir, which has rainbow and brown trout. The statewide limit of four trout has been removed by an emergency order from DWR director Jim Karpowitz.

The reservoir will eventually be restocked with trout and the statewide limit will be reinstated.
