Thank goodness for the dogged journalists working hard night and day to continue to write about the autocracy of the current presidential administration. These journalists in the mainstream media try to keep America updated in spite of battling a president who says "the press is the enemy of the people." For instance, the previously normal White House briefings have become more and more sparse. In fact, the news from the White House has become so quiet that Sean Spicer did not even allow cameras or audio in one of the latest briefings. At one point the media were barred temporarily from interviewing congressmen in the halls of the Capitol. On more than one occasion the reporters have been hurried out of a room or not allowed to ask questions at Trump's discretion.

What kind of atmosphere are we accepting as normal when the administration has absolutely no respect or acknowledgment for the very first amendment to the Constitution, Freedom of the Press. The sooner Trump concedes he must run an honest and transparent administration, the easier it will be on him both politically and personally. President Nixon learned the hard way that you cannot hide from the determined journalists who are always pursuing the truth.

These reporters stand firm as the "fourth" branch of the government, to ensure one of many checks and balances in our democracy is still working.

I know the media will keep up the great work in revealing the true events behind Trump and all his lies and upsetting actions. I look forward to the day when the country can get back to "normal" and the media get the credit and respect they deserve.
