Letter: A deafening silence from Utah Republicans

(J. Scott Applewhite | AP file photo) Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, leaves a Republican lunch meeting at the Capitol in Washington, Thursday, March 14, 2019.

Kudos to Sen. Mitt Romney and Rep. Ben McAdams for speaking out against President Donald Trump’s latest round of personal attacks targeting four female minority members of Congress.

As for Sen. Mike Lee and Reps. Rob Bishop, John Curtis and Chris Stewart, your silence is deafening. It is truly appalling to witness your elevation of the party flag above that of our nation.

Fellow citizens, can you even imagine the reactions from these four if Trump’s dialogue were coming from a Democratic president?

Bruce Baird, Sandy
