Letter: Romney’s attacks on Trump show he only cares about his image

(Andrew Harnik | The Associated Press) Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, smiles during a mock swearing in ceremony in the Old Senate Chamber on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, as the 116th Congress begins.

Mr. Romney, I as an American citizen am fully capable of assessing and evaluating the character of our sitting president and other individuals I come across in life. Frankly, I don't need, want or have any respect for self-serving editorializing that is an obvious attempt to burnish your image with the anti-Trump faction.

Bottom line, Mr. Romney, many of us rank-and-file Americans were tired of posing politicians who care more about their image than helping the man on the street. You, sir, fall squarely into that category, and Trump falls into the category of someone who actually gets things done for us.

Let's tell it like it is: Trump has been a far, far better president than you ever could have been. I know that's hard for your immense ego to process, but deal with it and vote to support Trump's policies that are good for us common folk.
