Letter: Trump continues to act like the south end of a north-facing horse

(Andrew Harnik | The Associated Press) President Donald Trump smiles as he speaks about H. R. 5682, the "First Step Act" in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, which would reform America's prison system.

Despite the mounting loss of life and apocalyptic destruction of property in California, the Oval Office occupant takes an opportunity to threaten cutbacks in federal wildfire aid because of poor forest management.

Primarily because it is a predominantly voting “blue state” and he refuses to acknowledge the increasing impacts of climate warming, he is incapable of showing any compassion or intelligent support for all those who literally had to drive and walk through hell to safety.

Maybe the new diversity of elected legislators can inspire some civility and call to bipartisan action, but it will likely not be from the Commander of Twitter who continues to act (not lead) like the south end of a north-facing horse.
