As a high school student, I am constantly hearing about all of these mass shootings. I think that a solution to this problem would be not to focus on tighter gun control, even though that is still a big problem, but to instead focus on how people are doing.
We should be more involved in each other’s lives. I think parents, teachers, faculty and fellow peers should pay more attention to how people are doing.
Maybe that means just asking someone how they’re doing as you pass them by. Maybe that means parents stopping everything to just check on their kids. Maybe it’s a teacher stopping a kid as they’re about to leave class to see how they’re doing.
I believe that if we as a society act as each other’s counselors we might be able to decrease the amount of shootings, if not stop them all together.
