Letter: Democrats need to stand up to Trump — and push the GOP to do the same

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” ― Edmund Burke

Here’s my message to Democrats: Stop being the “nice guys,” stand up for everyday Americans and start calling Donald Trump and the Republicans on their selfishness and bullying.

Tell Republicans: Stop being afraid of Donald Trump, his intimidation and belittling. Don’t sell your soul to Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Orrin Hatch, Mike Lee, Chris Stewart, Mia Love, Rob Bishop and John Curtis. Don’t trade your mother’s, wife’s, daughters’ and granddaughters’ bodies and honor to achieve your political agenda. Adhere to your values and ethics or one day you won’t like who you see in the mirror.

Oh, and by the way, cooperation does not mean “rubber stamp.” Everybody, you, me, Republicans and Democrats alike, need to get something out of the bargain; otherwise you will have short-term wins at the expense of long-term system failure.
