Letter: A few days in office and Curtis shows whom he represents

(Noel St. John | Special to the Tribune) Speaker of the House Paul Ryan greets John Curtis, his wife Susan Curtis, and their children before John Curtis is sworn into Congress on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017

John Curtis was sworn into office on Nov. 13.

On Nov. 16, Curtis voted to raise taxes on millions of people making less than $75,000 a year. He voted to give millionaires and business owners permanent tax breaks and to give the middle class and the working poor temporary tax breaks. He voted to take away deductions for medical expenses. He voted to take away deductions for college. He voted to increase the deficit.

So if you live in Congressional District 3, and if you are not a millionaire, and if you have an expensive medical condition or kids in college, or if you are concerned about the deficit, Curtis is not your representative.

But if you are rich, hey, he’s got your back.
