Food to fuel
This is an archived article that was published on sltrib.com in 2008, and information in the article may be outdated. It is provided only for personal research purposes and may not be reprinted.

I've been reading about the food shortages occurring around the world and the higher prices that people are having to pay for whatever they can get, and how it all ties in with biofuels. I know we have energy problems, but taking food from someone's mouth to feed our vehicles is not the way to solve them.

If necessary, fuel rationing should be considered. As for myself, I won't take food to convert to fuel to feed my truck. I can and will find other transportation, like bicycling or walking. I could use the exercise; nearly all of us here in the United States could.
