Buttars and gay people

I'm one of the unnecessary, immoral and repugnant people who Sen. Chris Buttars, R-West Jordan, was referring to while talking about his attempt to block Salt Lake City's domestic partnership registry, as reported on the KCPW Web site.

I take issue with his statement that the registry would create a "new class" of protected people. That already happened when Utah passed the discriminatory Proposition 3 that prohibited gay marriage and created unprotected, official second-class citizens who are denied many rights that others get by going to the county clerk and getting a marriage license.

Why does Sen. Buttars hate gay people so much?
