"Mitt Romney and the Mormon question" (Tribune, Sept. 21) is an astounding headline. I can understand The Washington Post originally publishing it. I cannot understand The Salt Lake Tribune using it.
Some additional headlines and stories you might like to use:
* George Washington and the Masonic question
* John F. Kennedy and the Catholic question
* Joseph Lieberman and the Jewish question
* The Presidents G.H.W. and G. W. Bush and the Skull and Bones question.
Why can't you lay off negative things to say about Romney and his faith? Find fault with his abilities or political subversions, and be careful what headlines you use.
I am not now and never have been a member of the LDS Church or any of its offshoots. I feel certain that U.S. Sens. Bob Bennett and Orrin Hatch are Mormon. Should we be raking their Mormon memberships over the coals?
