Columnist biased

Rebecca Walsh's March 29 column bemoans what she perceives as political bias by the LDS Church in inviting Vice President Dick Cheney to Brigham Young University, yet I can't help but notice she is less than neutral herself in this matter.

If the university had instead landed a prominent Democrat like Hillary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi, would she have concluded the church had come down on the blue side of the fence? Would she be extolling BYU's “progressive” move and denouncing the inevitable protests against the speech? Had it happened this way, I strongly suspect her column on political neutrality would have had a much sunnier tone.
