Before we can find a solution to a dilemma, we need to be asking the right question. As someone who is an educator and who values the purpose of public school, I consider the voucher issue a hot topic.
Rather than asking, "Will vouchers hurt public schools?" we need to be asking, "Will vouchers help children?" The bottom line is children, not schools. Children are our future. Therefore, it is not only morally, but also economically, sound for us to do whatever it takes for all children to be educated. For this reason, as a taxpayer I want my tax dollars invested where a child will get the education he or she needs and deserves whether that be a public or private school.
